Cotton fragments and fiber have been found in Mexico dating back to 5,000 BC. Cotton was also cultivated in the Indus River Valley (present-day Pakistan) as early as 3,000 BC

Cotton was brought to Europe by Alexander the Great's army after conquering the Persian Empire in 300 BC. Arab traders brought cotton fabrics to Italy and Spain in the 100s AD

• Iron with care

• Wash with care

  Use a delicate cycle or cold wash to avoid shrinking. You can wash cotton in warm water, but avoid excessively hot water. 

• Dry carefully

  Air drying is best for minimizing shrinking. If you machine dry, use low to moderate heat.
